High School Mission Trip

  

July 29th-August 3rd, 2012

Puerto Rico is our international site and is for High School only. Also a Youth Works location. We will be flying and spending the week in all sorts of ministry opportunities! Team leaders will be Todd and Jennifer Courtland and Janet Raspotnik. Registration fee is $60 and we will raise the rest of the cost.

Please pick up an application at the church office or e-mail me your address and I will mail you one. The applications and $ are due September 30th. There are a limited number of spots available due to high cost and travel arrangements so please get them in as soon as possible. If you would like to join the team but it is full please join in on the Savannah team instead.

  

  

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

February 5: This year we will be having separate Middle school and High School parties.  The Middle School Super Bowl Party will be at Todd and Jennifer Courtland’s home located at 209 S Washington Ave.

The High School party will be at Dean and Janet Raspotnik’s home located at 3160 W Hansen Rd.  Both parties start at 6pm. 

Please bring a snack to share with the group.  There will be prizes for closest scores, games, food, fun and more! It will be a blast! YOU WON’T WANNA MISS IT!

  

  

   

          Attention Middle School

  

Please note that on February 26 we will meet at the Ice Arena at West Shore instead of

having youth group at the church.  It is

blueberry night and you will still receive a prize for dressing in all blue!

  

My name is Jennifer Courtland.  I have a wonderful husband and four very active children, Zach - 9, Jenna- 6, Connor- 5, Ashlyn- 3.  I have spent a lot of time doing mission work and been a part of 7 different mission trips around the world.   I play the piano, guitar, organ and sing.  In my free time I love to scrapbook and play games. 

1 Timothy 4:12 says, "Let no man despise thy youth but be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."  I hope that I can be an example of all these things to the youth of your church.  I look forward to getting to know you all.                   LEGACY

(Living Eternally Grateful As Christian Youth)

Legacy is the new name of our youth group! This is based on Ephesians 5:20 which says, "Give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."  This is our goal, to be positive examples of Jesus Christ in everything that we do and leave a legacy of love.

 

Mission Trip to Savannah, GA

June 23rd-30th, 2012

This will be an exciting week of service and work projects, fun, fellowship and adventure. This is a Youth Works trip and is a mixed site so it's open to all Middle and High Schoolers. You must fill out an application. Registration fee is $60 and we will raise the rest of the cost. Application and money are due by September 30th. If you would like an application let me know and I can mail you one or you can pick one up at the church office. There is no limit to how many we can take so sign up and join in the fun!

Field Trip:
Aquire the Fire  April 27-28, 2012

  

Join with 30,000 other teenagers in East Lansing for a weekend that will change the way you feel about worship. This event will feature awesome Christian bands like, Toby Mac, Thousand Foot Crutch, Hawk Nelson, Tenth Avenue North and MORE! We will also enjoy a variety of Christian comedians and speakers throughout the event. This is for 6th-12th graders and is a great event to invite a friend to. Sign up TODAY for this exciting weekend!

We will leave immediately after school on Friday and return late Saturday night. We will stay in a hotel on Friday night. Please register as soon as possible. We must buy tickets soon to get the lowest price. Permission slip and money are due by September 18th. We are registering early to get the best price and reserve hotel rooms. The cost is $70 for the entire weekend! Please let me know ASAP if you can go and then bring your money to youth group on September 11th or 18th.
